What is The Occasional Brewer?
The Occasional Brewer is the place you go to make your own high quality craft beer. We have the professional equipment, ingredients, facilities and expertise to help you make great craft beer from scratch. No experience is needed.
Book a brew with your friend and share the cost, you get around 40 litres of quality craft beer (that's around 10 dozen 330ml bottles!).
One brew can be done solo, or by up to three people. We have 12 brewing kits so can cater for larger groups as well. Standard brews start at $159.

Labels
Excel Digital has developed an online portal for designing and ordering high quality, removable labels for your bottles. For more info check out our labelling page

Dry Hopping
Dry hopping can be done anytime during the brew space and bar opening hours (see bottom of page), but if we are kicking off a brewing or bottling session you may have to wait a few minutes.
New brew space location with our own bar
Our Brew space has moved to 85 Adelaide Road in Mt Cook. We are also operating a small bar there to enable our customers to sample a range of our beers on tap, as well as offering a selection of bar foods. We have also changed our booking system to enable customers to choose their beer style on arrival, as opposed to in advance.

Our standard session start times are:
Tue - Thurs: 5.30pm
Fri: 12.00pm and 5.30pm
Sat: 9.30, 2pm, 6:30pm
Sun: 10.00, 2:30pm
